#Rethink: God has a love language.

Text: John 15 1-11 & Psalm 91:1

Dear friend,

“If a man wants to be used by God, he cannot spend all of his time with people.” – A. W. Tozer

I had to start with a quote from Tozer because I want us to understand that, "who we have been sent to, should never become more important than who sent us."

"Many relationships fail because the people involved are rather committed to pleasing others with their relationship than pleasing each other."

Your first responsibility is to please the person you are in a relationship with. If the person is not pleased and doesn't feel loved, you have failed. It doesn't matter what you or others think, say, or do.

The same is true with our relationship with God. But we have gone into a quest to pleasing people with our relationship with God, instead of pleasing God with our relationship with people.

We only show God we love Him when people are watching. We may even cry, lift hands, shout and jump, but that's not all God wants from us.

God doesn't just want corporate fellowship He wants personal fellowship even more!!!

So many of us are trying to love God the way we think we should,   the way we know how to, or the way we have been taught. But we can only love God the way He has asked us to - that is His love language.

So let's talk about God's love languages

1. Quality time:

God didn't make man for service but fellowship - so you are wrong if you think "Act of service" is God's first love language.

The first thing we were taught to do to show our love for God is to serve Him.

The first thing we need to do to show our love for God is to spend time with Him. Cultivate the habit of spending time with God.

Psalm 122:1
I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of God.

•How delighted are you to be with God?
•Do you prefer to be with God alone and just enjoy the beauty of His presence?

See Psalm 27:4
One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
