#Rethink: If the Spirit leads us, we will never break the law. 

Text: Romans 8:1-8

Dear friend, 

The flesh is man's greatest limitation to perfection. 

I'll define Perfection and Flesh, so we can have a better understanding of the statement above. 

1. The Flesh is man's nature without the Holy Spirit.

2. Perfection is being lead by the Holy Spirit

The law was given to Moses so that man can arrive at perfection by simply observing the law. The commandments in the law were framed to direct the man to Love God and Other and also himself.

But because the man was fallen and subject to the flesh, the flesh made it impossible for us to obey/observe the law.

What the flesh did was weaken the power of the law. (Romans 8:3)

But thanks to Jesus, who came in the likeness of a sinful man, overcame sin, fulfilled the law, and gave us the same person who enabled him (the Holy Ghost) so that the law might also be fulfilled in us.

Henceforth, the moment a man subject/permits himself to be lead by the Holy Ghost, you need not tell him what to do anymore. He doesn't need to be governed anymore by the law.

The only thing the Bible equates to keeping/fulfilling the law is being led by the Spirit of God (guided by the power of His Spirit).

Let me say this as I bring this to a close. As a Christian, if you don't permit the Holy Spirit to lead you, then you are still under the law. Because it is those who the Spirit leads that are the sons of God.

Take some time out to pray that you become more sensitive to the Holy Spirit and permit His leadership. Trust Him to teach you to say no daily to the flesh and yes to His leading.
