𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝,
I told a few of my friends during a meeting that the love of God towards man is constant - He can never love you more because you did good and love you less because you don't do good. However, it is only the love of man towards God and towards the man that needs to abound more and more (grow). Our love cannot remain constant, it must grow.

If your answer to this question isn't yes, then your love life most likely isn't abounding. Every day gives us an opportunity to love better because every day allows us to learn. Grow in love every day!!!

The Philippians had tasted and seen the love of God. They had known Love and had embraced it in their own lives. But their love was not enough to overcome the troubles of the day, especially the troubles that arise when Christians have to live together so closely with one another. The devil knows our weaknesses and uses them against us to divide us and to set us one against the other. Our love needs to abound if we are to serve God’s will and reflect his glory.

Paul prayed that their love may abound more and more 𝑰𝑵 knowledge and in all judgment (discernment). Paul was particular in what their love should abound in.
We love well (according to God's purposes) when our love is not foolish. Our love can be ignorant and without insight, but it shouldn't be. Inasmuch as God has instructed us to love, he does not demand that we love as unwise. Our love must be full of knowledge and insight if we must love well.
𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭?
Because we cannot just love everything and must be knowledgeable in how we love everyone, our love must be coupled with knowledge.
The word “knowledge” or understanding is the “knowledge of God”. Unless we have deep knowledge and understanding of God— who God is, it is hard for our love to grow and mature into something powerful that can serve God’s purpose.
