WHAT I NEED FOR MY JOURNEY

𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐈 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐌𝐘 𝐉𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐘.

𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝,

It is sometimes difficult to tell the exact things you need for a journey, especially when the journey is a new one, one that you have never embarked on before. While I was up this morning getting ready to pray, I kept asking God, "what do I need for my journey?” then He took me to Hebrews 12, and Instead of telling me what I needed, He showed me first what I do not need for my journey.

We must note that one of the enemy's weapons in making sure that the believer does not reach the end of his journey (goals, objectives, purposes, and targets) is simply by weighing them down not necessarily through distraction but by a weight. 𝐀 𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲.

One thing we cannot afford to travel with this year is anything that will weigh us down. We need all the strength we can get to journey through 2021. The pain, guilt, shame, anger, bitterness, success, relationships, lack of proper time management, mindset, unnecessary long midnight calls, etc must go off our backpacks.

Just like I did, I want you to take out sometime within your day and identify everything you would not be needing for this journey, everything that tends to weigh you down, and on Thursday, I will let you in on how you can drop them. 

𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐢𝐱 𝐮𝐩 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨.

I believe this week carries the selection process. It does not matter how far we may have gone on our journey, we can determine today to begin the selection and rid ourselves of everything we do not need, everything weighing us down. 

𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝, 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐮𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐛𝐲 𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐬 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝. He now understands that we cannot afford a distraction, but that we do not mind carrying a weight. But we have the wisdom of God and we walk in the light!!!
