Dear friend,

God's love is one of the most misunderstood concept I have ever come across. Not because it isn't simply to understand, but because of what we have been taught. We think God stops loving us because we started doing wrong, or we equally think He starts loving or loves us more than before because we do good. We also think His love is a license to live just the way we want...all of these are simply because we do not really have a full understanding about the love of Jesus towards us or we have been taught wrongly like I said. It is God's desire that we grow in the knowledge of His steadfast love towards us, and only God can reveal the extent of His love to us.

Jesus sure did not sacrifice himself on the cross only to stop caring after his resurrection. 

I was seeing a movie and a father asked his son, why do you think I take care of you, put food on the table and make sure you have a roof over your head? The son said, "because you like me." And his father said, "what rule is there that says I have to like you? I do all I do because you are my son and it is my responsibility as a father to love and care for his own."

We all belong to God. Scripture says he is the father of all (Ephesians 4:6). Take some time to look at everything God has done for you, He did not do any of them because He just likes you. The life we have is simply because he loves us. The peace, mercy, forgiveness, provision, protection and grace we enjoy today is because Jesus is in love with us. 

Jesus does not necessarily love us so we can love him back, but the day we come to the knowledge of his love for us, we can't help but love him in return. That is why it is important that everything we do for Him must be from the place of love just as He has done for us.

God does not love us occasionally or seasonally, but always and forever. He does not love us because of what we do or do not do, but because of who He is. Stop looking for love outside Jesus, He is the perfect definition of what and who love is.
