Dear friend,

The most amazing thing to me about God's love for us is that He does not start loving us the day we choose to believe in His son Jesus and turn away from our sins. Scripture says, "while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." So why then do we get up one morning and think because we prayed today God will be happy and love us more? Why do we think we can gain His Love by what we do or not do? None of us can be good enough to gain His Love by deeds. This is not to make us careless people, but to open our eyes to the fact that, we do not do good so God can love us, we do good because He loves us, and His love is what compels us.

Yesterday I was reading through a chapter in a book, then I suddenly found out that the definition of love we have is only to the degree to which we have experienced it. And the degree to which we have experienced it is certainly how we would express it. If a boy or a girl grows up in an abusive home, he/she thinks love will someday become abusive.

How does He see love? Read and Pray Ephesians 3:16-19

Love is not sex, love is not violent, love is not a feeling, love is not sweet words, love is not easily angered, love is not based on what you do or do not do, love is not conditional, love is not manipulative, love does not take advantage of the other, love is kind, love is selfless, love is not proud, love is not rude, love is humble, love does not keep any record of a wrong done, love is God and God is love.

The more you experience God the better you love. Jesus does not just want us to receive His love, He wants us to give it out to everyone around us. That is how we love Him back - by loving others.

Today I want us to look at the perfect definition of love and learn from Him. Yes, I said "Him" because love is a person and that person has given Himself to us all. He does not ever get tired of loving you and I. Love is God, seen in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

How did he treat his friends and every other person that encountered Him? You cannot truly love if you do not learn from Jesus the true lover.

Lord give me a heart that loves everyone just like you do, but first, help me walk in the reality of your love towards me. Amen
