      #Cry It Out
_Men don't cry

Keys Scripture: Matt 26:75
And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

Men don't cry a father tells his 12years old son. So dad,  does it mean Jesus was less of a man...? And what about when I can't hold it back sir? "Whatever you do don't let anyone see you crying, it's a sign of weakness" the father said to his son, "and you can not be perceived to be weak."

Several years ago a video of a teacher went viral with over 15M views on YouTube. This man was later invited on several TV shows including T.D Jake's show. The video contained a young minor, about 10 years old, trying to break a log with his bear hands as part of the initiation process into cave Adulam (a martial art school). After several attempts, the young boy couldn't go any further, the pain was too much, then he immediately started crying but quickly  tried to clean his face so nobody sees his tears. His teacher said to him, " I know it hurts, and it's ok to cry. As men we cry too, just don't stop trying."

Does letting the tears come right down your chin make you any less of who you are? People may try to suppress tears simply because they see them as weakness. But is that absolutely true? The young boy in the video finally broke the log with one more blow.

Like the young boy, life may not really have been fair to you. It's okay to let the tears come running down. Remember I said to you, the best place to let them all out is in the arms of the one who truly loves you. I don't hold back my tears when I'm in God's presence.

Let's just take a moment to see some healthy benefit of letting your tears out.

1. Has a soothing effect

Self-soothing is when people: Regulate their own emotions calm themselves reduce their own distress. A 2014 study found that crying may have a direct, selfsoothing effect on people. The study explained how crying activates the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS), which helps people relax.

2. Helps to relieve pain

Research has found that in addition to being self-soothing, shedding emotional tears releases oxytocin and endorphins.

These chemicals make people feel good and may also ease both physical and emotional pain. In this way, crying can help reduce pain and promote a sense of well-being.

3. Aids sleep

A small study in 2015 found that crying can help babies sleep better. Whether crying has the same sleep-enhancing effect on adults is yet to be researched.

However, it follows that the calming, mood-enhancing, and pain-relieving effects of crying above may help a person fall asleep more easily.
