     #Home

Dear friend,
_ Family stays at home.

Key scripture: Luke 15:20
He got right up and went #Home to his father. "When he was still a long way off, his father saw him. His heart pounding, he ran out, embraced him, and kissed him.

Let me start with telling you a short story. A certain young lady went out to visit a friend on a monday morning. After seeing her friend, she was on her way back home and it was a little late at night. On getting to a building (old and uncompleted), she was robbed and rapped. She got up messed up, wounded and in pains. She finally could reached out to a phone booth and immediately called her father. After telling him everything that had happened. He asked her one question; Where are you now? Then the next thing he said was, "I'm coming to take you Home!"

*Who is at home?*

That's one question everybody gets to ask when going home. It's a good question, even though it is often asked causally. But I'll need you to take a few minutes and think it through; who really is at home? Because the person who is at home, makes the home whatever it is for you.

But also, how well do you know the persons at home? So many of us have lived for years with someone we don't even know. Stayed under the same roof yet acted as neighbours. It is your duty to know the person at home. That question implies that you can't stay at home with someone and not care enough to know the person.

For the prodigal son, he knew whom and what he was going home to meet. That was the only reason he could go back home. He knew who was at home and what the person had made the home to be. He said how many of my father's hired men have food to spare... He knew who his father is, he had seen him show kindness to even his servants, how much more his son. So he knew he was going Home to meet a loving Father and a Satisfaction.

*Your home should give you satisfaction*

So many people would rather stay out and hang out with friends, than go home and hang out with family. Simply because we are getting satisfaction somewhere esle. The home should be your first place of satisfaction. A place of love, relaxation, refreshing, a place of refuge, peace, and comfort.

*The home is a covering God has made for every man*

There are a thousand and one things the home covers you from. And I hope you know that the home is not the building, the home the people. That is why a man can hardly survive outside home. No matter how far you travel away from family, you have to keep in touch. Because the home provides a covering for every man.

For the prodigal son, the home covered his shame and sin, for the girl in my story, the home covered her pain. The home can heal you. The home covers your nakedness, your weaknesses, your fault, the home covers you from the enemy. You are protected at home. *Any man without a home is vulnerable.* I believe every man must identify with a family.

*God raises us in families*

Jesus had a home because he had a family. In as much as He was never in the house during His ministry, he never lost touch with home. He even had a bigger family as He went on in ministry (for example, his disciples became his family and so did everyone who believed in Him). No man ever did great outside family not even Jesus. The home should be a man's greatest source of strength.

*You can leave the house, but never leave home*

Every young man's dream is to someday leave the house and fend for himself. The mistake most men do is that, they don't just leave the house, the leave the home. But they fail to understand that the day you leave home you seize from being a son. Because family stays at home!

Don't leave home. If you have, come back home!

Keep growing!
