Dear friend,
_Not every door you knock on will open.
Key scripture: 1 Cor.16:9
_Because a great door for effective work has been opened to me, and there are many who oppose me._
During the week a friend of mine applied for fund grant, which she believed the Lord asked her to go for. The winners were announced after a while and she wasn't part of them. She said to me that it broke her, she was down and felt she didn't hear God well. While she was talking, I was able to see that not every door we knock on will open. The earlier we understand that, the better. Sometimes we need to be bold enough and know that it is not my door, so we can walk away without being hurt or disappointed if the door didn't open.
*Who opens a door?*
This is one question that so many fail to realize the true answer too. And because we have failed to recognized the one who opens and shut, we always attempt to do it ourselves. (So it amazes me to see that the one who opens and shuts stands at the heart of every man and knocks for us to open the door so He can come in).
There's one who truly opens a door that no man can shut and shuts a door that no man can open. Everytime you need an open door, always remember that the door you (the flesh) open can't stay open for too long. You can bribe your way in, cheat your way in or lie your way in, out smart your way there... *but the door you open wouldn't stay open for long.*
So many times we push down a door that the Lord isn't opening, simply because we don't trust Him so much. Statements like: we must get in by all means, we must get that job, God must provide, I must get married to her...etc are really not faith based even though they sound like it, it is a clear sign that if the Lord doesn't open it, I'll find a way to do it (one of the two has to happen) and believe me, God doesn't work in such atmospheres.
*God doesn't just opens a door, He also shuts them*
So there's a high chance that the door you are trying to get open was shut by God. And when He is the one who shuts, don't try opening it, you'll only hurt yourself. Now You See that some of those doors (relationship, job, project etc) were shut by God, and you are hurting because you keep trying to keep them open.
*We shouldn't just pray for God to open doors, we should also pray for Him to shut some, and walk away from the door when it's shut. Because we'll never walk into our open doors if we don't walk away from our shut doors*
It is quite easy for you to walk into your open door when the other doors are shut. Too many times, the things hindering us from walking into the door open before us are the doors open beside an behind us. And these are the doors we opened.
*Every time the opposition increases know that God is about to open a door for you*
Because things got harder should not make you relent from walking into that door. You may have fought for so long; go into your door when it opens!!!
