_ refresh to stay fresh

Key passage: 1Cor 5:7
Purge (clean out) the old leaven that you may be fresh (new) dough, still uncontaminated [as you are], for Christ, our Passover [Lamb], has been sacrificed.

Dear friend,

How often do you put off whatever is old? How ready are you willing to let go of whatever is old and hold on to what is new? You will have to constantly refresh. It may have been good, fresh, helpful or useful at a given time, but as soon as it gets old or done with, are you willing to let go or refresh? God wants us to be fresh. You don't have to keep carrying the old around; the old habits, old things learnt that aren't accurate, the old lifestyle...You may either need to delete the application, refresh it or better still update it!

Someone met Bishop T.D Jakes and asked him, how do you manage to keep it fresh? How do you preach every Sunday and it looks fresh. You don't have to repeat a topic of make so much effort to keep it fresh, yet it's fresh. You see for TD Jakes it is his ministry, what is it for you? What do you need to keep fresh; your family, work, school, life or married? For some of us our marriages are old and getting so boring, we hate our job, school is frustrating or maybe your life is not going as planned. I started on Monday by sharing certain things you need to do to keep it fresh.

*How do I keep things fresh?*
3. Constantly drink fresh stream: It's important you constantly drink from the one who called you into that job, marriage, family, relationship or life. He is the only fresh stream. Your marriage, job, family or life can't be fresh if you don't drink. The water you drank yesterday can only keep you for a while, you need to constantly place a demand on that stream for your relationship, marriage, job or life. Don't ever think you can keep going if you run out of water, you would most likely end up drinking from an old stream.

4. Let the old go: Don't ever keep holding on to the way things used to be, let the old go so the new can come. It's the new that makes things fresh. All things the Bible says has become new. Forget about the past and move into the new. *If we keep holding on to what happened we may loose sight of what is and miss out of what can be.* You must deliberately choose to let the past be the past, leave it behind and move forward.

5. Change the way you think: Nothing will ever become fresh if your thoughts are not. As you think so you are. Your thoughts can not be old and dirty and you except a fresh life, marriage, school or job. What do you think about your relationship? What do you think about your life? Most of the contaminations in our lives today are simply a product of our thinking. Think right!

6. Don't be afraid to start again: Fresh means new and new means new! We must all not be afraid to start again, start something we haven't done before, or travel a totally new path. If things must be fresh you must be willing to start from one again. 11 is one in another dimension, so is 21 and 31 and 41. Don't stay at 10 because you are afraid of going back to 1, don't also stay at 19 for fear of going to 21 (one). I hope you understand. Always be ready to travel on a path for the first time.

*Make the exchange: old for new*

Don't be afraid to give to God everything that has become old in your life. Even the wine at some point becomes an old wine and would need to be changed. Not just that, the wine skin to at some point also needs changes. You can't keep holding on to the old ways -it's a principle. That is the reason why God's word is new every morning! You can hold on firm to His word, it's never old.

*Update*

My dear friend, things are changing, and they are changing very fast. If you don't keep up, you'll be left behind. You can't keep doing evangelism the same old way, you'll reach out to only a very tiny little persons today. The way ministry is done today is quite different from the way it was done during Jesus' time. If you try to run your home the way it was done in the old, you may end up breaking that home. You have to understand what age we are in and update your library. *Time and space is changing, you must constantly refresh to stay fresh.*
