#Endurance
Dear friend,
_Endure hardship as discipline (Heb12:7)
Key Scripture: Rom 5:3-4
_Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces endurance, endurance character and character, hope._
This topic is quite personal to me, because I believe I have had a taste of what it means to endure. I have had to take in harsh words said by someone, I have also had to keep going even when I didn't feel like going. Sometimes I really get encouraged just looking at a friend of mine. Watching her go through all she's going through and is not broken and still find strength to smile is what I would call #Endurance
Years ago, on my way out, I was listening to a message by late Dr. Myles Munroe. I can't quite remember the title. But he said something that has not left since then. He said when you start a race, there is every tendency you would get tired few minutes or hours into the race, but if you endure that pain and not let the tiredness keep you from running, you would exceed the breaking point and that level of tiredness can never keep you down again.
*The difference between how you or another responds to hardship is tied to the knowledge you both have about it*
Too many people believe that hardships only comes to bring them down, so they look for the quickest way out of everything hard. Nobody wants to go through something difficult, we just wants it to come easy, smooth and without any problem, then we go to church and testify that the Lord is good because we got a good result, got a new car, got a good job and so on, and all we are saying is, God is only good when things are good for me. When things gets hard, no one comes out to testify of His goodness, the first thought we have is that God has left us, and we ask the common question, why me God?
The only way you can keep calm, cool and steady when things are hard, is because you know what hardship can produce when properly managed (see key scripture). God is not a hard God, He just doesn't give easy assignments. Simply because if it's easy you would not need His help.
*Ease is a greater threat to success than hardship.*
Just like a race, God doesn't ask you to run a 100 meters if He knows you wouldn't need endurance to run. Every difficult race must be ran with endurance. You must endure the pain to exceed the breaking point.
*If it is easy then it wouldn't stretch you, if it doesn't stretch you then you don't need to endure it, if you don't have endurance then you can not build character*
Right now you may be going through something very hard, maybe in school, work, home or personally. Don't look for the quickest way or easy way out. *Understand that when hardship is endured it births good character.*
One reason I have been able to come this far(which is not close to where I am going but definitely not where I used to be) is because I have been able to endure hard times without looking for quick fixes. Be careful of quick fixers. Immediately something goes bad, they quickly want to fix it. Quick fixes to unexpected problem cause more damage.
*There's nothing you endured that you didn't master!*
One of the greatest qualities of a master is his ability to endure pain. If you must become a master, learn not to run away from hard times, endure them. Have a tough skin. Develop stamina. Don't quit, don't sit. *Keep running even if it feels like you'd die, you sure won't!!!*
Keep moving,
keep growing
keep working
