#Rethink: God has a love language 2.
Text: John 4:1-4 & Malachi 3:1-11
Dear friend,
God wants to be loved by you!!!
It sounds really strange to hear that the one who is "Love personified" wants to be loved by you right? But it's so true!!
God wants us to love Him because it is only in loving Him that we can truly learn to love others and ourselves. And you cannot love Jesus without the knowledge of His deep love for you.
Jesus wants to fill up your love tank!!
Inside every human is an 'emotional rani's waiting to be filled with love. When a person feels loved, he will develop healthy self-esteem, but when the love tank is empty, the person will misbehave. Much of the misbehavior of people is motivated by the cravings of an empty 'love tank
So the right question to ask is, "now that I know that Jesus loves me, how can I love Him?"
Every person who can be loved has a love language - they have ways they want you to express love towards them. Playing blind eyes to those ways tells them you don't love them.
God also has 3 love languages that I know about.
The first is Quality time- you cannot love Him and spend leftover time with Him... (Mentioned in my previous letter)
2. Act of Service:
God doesn't just want us to spend time with Him. He also wants us actively serving to Him.
Every time we read the word and spend time with Jesus, there is always work (an assignment or an instruction) from the word that we must do.
We must become doers of the work from the word.
3. Receiving Gifts:
God is big on receiving gifts. He said, "it is more blessed to give than to receive." There are loads of Bible passages that point us to the fact that God loves a cheerful giver. That is enough indication that receiving gifts is also His love language.
There are a lot of ways we can give to God - offerings, tithes, giving to a brother, supporting missionaries, clothing a stranger, etc.
The truth is, we cannot truly serve God without our resources.
A wise man said, "for a relationship to be sustained resources must be exchanged."
Shalom
