𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝,
To understand why I write to you every Monday and Thursday for four years, it's important that you know my story.
A lot of people have told me to stop writing letters and talk more, they say I am a better talker than a writer (and I agree with them on that).
However, I wasn't called to talk alone, I was also called to be an epistler or to some a penfriend. So if my letter doesn't appeal to you, then it wasn't written to you. This is also the best way I can practice and improve my writing skills.
Let's not lose track here. So I have been able to do this every week for four years thanks to the Grace of God.
How I have done it is simple, it took me time and repetition to become a routine. I was going out one morning while I was listening to Myles Munro's sermon with my ears plugged, he said keep doing it until it becomes part of you. That stuck with me!!!
So here are a few tips to help you see a thing through to the end.
1. Make it a routine: Do it long enough until it becomes a routine.
2. Make sure it’s not just important, but that you care enough about it. People don’t do what’s important; they do what they care enough about.
3. Don’t confuse reasonable with realistic. Reasonable makes sense, realistic is what’s likely to happen. Be ready for whatever happens.
4. Expect your mind to change. What will you do when the initial enthusiasm you had when you started fades, and you calm down?
5. Stick with it.
