𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝,

Over the week I have constantly said to myself out loud, "you are all God says you are, you are not less you are more" I can't even count how long I had to do it. In fact, I am still doing it.

This is because I came to realize that if I don't say it to myself over and again, I would gradually begin to downplay what God says about me, backing it up with the attempt of trying to measure up to who I am or am not, or trying to please everyone.
 Do you get that?

The thought to measure up is always from the devil, war it!!!

I honestly didn't realize that Paul in 2Corinthians 10:3-5, was majorly talking about the war against the thoughts of comparing ourselves with one another and trying to measure up - until I started reading it recently (by the way, I'd advise you to read the entire chapter). You will find out that, that kind of thought can never be generated by the Spirit of God.

Here are 3 reasons why Paul didn't settle for comparison and didn't attempt to measure up to anyone or anything in his day. We can learn from it!!!

1. Gifted: Paul was gifted in writing and he understood and celebrated his gift.

What are you gifted in? What steps have you taken towards understanding your gift?
What have you done to celebrate that gift?

Friend, I don't believe any man is without a gift. It is in the ignorance of our gifts that we go around trying to measure up. Celebrate your gift!!!

2. Grounded: Paul had a foundation that made him solid. He was grounded in God and in his knowledge of Him, and that made Paul authentic.

Where do you stand?
Do you have an understanding of who you are and what you can do in God?

Authenticity is a product of groundedness. You have to be confident in God and who He has called you to be.

3. Growing: Paul was growing, and that didn't make him fear being seen as imperfect. He was more concerned about getting better than being perfect.

Instead of trying to measure up, constantly lookout for ways you can improve yourself and the people around you.

If you practice these three things, I can promise you that you will always win the fight of trying to measure up.
