𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐈 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐌𝐘 𝐉𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐘.

𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝,

I came to understand that the beauty of any journey is in traveling light. Traveling with just what is needed has a way of getting the stress of the journey off our back. Someone said, "life's journey isn't as complicated as we make it." Having to care for and handle both the necessary and unnecessary is the main stressor to life's journey.

Hebrews 12:1 talks about laying aside every weight and the sin that does easily beset us so we can run with patience the race that is set before us, seeing that we have a great cloud of witnesses.

The steps of laying not just a weight but the "sin that so easily beset" us is by:

𝟏. 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Identify them by first calling them out for what they are. People give excuses for everything they are not willing to let go of.

I asked you on Monday to take inventory of your journey so far, and point out everything that is the weight. Today, I will also need you to point out everything/every person that causes you to sin easily. It is time to stop giving excuses, call it what it is so you can drop it, and continue on your journey.

𝟐. 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝:

While I was praying and asking Jesus to help me let go of what I would not be needing for my journey, He said, "𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒈𝒐 𝒐𝒇 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅."

We have to stop giving attention to everything that weighs us down. Stop thinking about them. 𝑰𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒈𝒐 𝒊𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆, 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒈𝒐 𝒊𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅. Spend more time doing the things that give you strength, renew your joy, lighten you up, and make you feel unstoppable.

𝟑. 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬:
𝑭𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒔 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒚, 𝒊𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆. If we do not discipline ourselves to focus only on what we need, we will find ourselves going back to pick up what we laid aside. 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕,  𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆, 𝒑𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒑𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍, 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕, 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅, 𝒐𝒓 𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏. 𝑰𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒅𝒆𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒘𝒆𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒊𝒔. Choose to focus only on what is important.

𝟒. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲:
Someone said, "you can only learn to pray by praying." Prayer helps me focus on what is important, so I will recommend it for anyone trying to find focus. Pray every time!!

In the place of prayer, a lot of weight loss happens. Simply because prayer is a spiritual exercise. If we must keep fit and not walk around with weights and "that sin", we must learn to pray.

𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚, 𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒚 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒊𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅. 𝑰𝒏𝒃𝒐𝒙 𝒖𝒔 𝒐𝒏 08167501604 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒖𝒔 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒐𝒓 𝒔𝒊𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒔𝒐 𝒘𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒋𝒐𝒊𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒊𝒏 𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒓, 𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒅𝒓𝒐𝒑 𝒊𝒕 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒃𝒐𝒙 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒘👇🏽

Shalom!
