John 9:1-7

𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅,

I have never been physically blind before. However, it is important to understand that physical sight is only appreciated because there is day (light). If the world suddenly goes dark for a few days without any form of light, sight will be useless. Blindness is the absence of light or the absence of one's ability to see light.

Wherever there is no light, there is no sight. We can never appreciate sight without light, we also cannot appreciate light without sight.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔 𝒄𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕. Before Jesus made any attempt to give sight to the blind man in John 9, he first introduced himself as the light of the world. You can only know that a man is truly blind when he cannot see the light standing right in front of him.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐬𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞.

This miracle Jesus did reminded me of a movie I watched a few years back, of a soldier who thought he went blind after several explosions that happened around him. He kept screaming "I can't see," until a friend got a bottle of water and washed the dirt off his face. Suddenly he could see again, and he said, "this is a miracle, I thought I was never going to see again."

I believe it is time to wash the dirt off our faces so we can see the light. That dirt may be a disappointment, a failed marriage, the death of a loved one, sin, guilt, corruption, shame, addiction, low self-esteem, laziness, lack of proper time management, fear, a medical condition, and so on. Whatever is covering your eyes and stopping you from seeing the light of God, take steps to Jesus and wash them away with his word by the help of his spirit.

Today as a country, we wash off the dirt from our eyes! We now can see a new Nigeria, we can see change, we can see a new government, we can see a better Nigeria!!
