#THE BELIEVER'S CONFIDENCE

Dear friend,

I heard something this week that blessed me, not because it was entirely new to me, but it was the first time I was hearing it from the mouth of another person. The first time I heard it, I believed it was the spirit of the God who whispered it into my spirit. During the weekend, Saturday to be precise, I heard it again from my pastor, but this time around it sounded different, I immediately knew the Holy Spirit was drawing my attention back to the things He had said to me. Not only that, I also strongly believe that the faith and grace to apply it was made available by the hearing of the word. As you read through, the same faith and grace comes to you!

Scripture says, _"God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (2Timothy 1:7)_
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
_"For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba Father" (Romans 8:15)_

Permit me to digress a little for the sake of the letter I will be writing to you today. Listen friend, God did not just give us His one and only son Jesus to die and redeem us back to Himself, He also gave us His one and only Holy Spirit to enable us remain and grow in our relationship with Him(God) and be everything He has called us to be.

His spirit is what scripture refers to as freedom not to fear, spirit of adoption, spirit of power, love and a sound mind. That's the spirit He has given us. Hallelujah!!!

These three things are the believer's advantages to winning any battle:
1. The believer's confidence,
2. The believer's love &
3. The believer's mind (a sound mind).

So let's talk about the believer's confidence.
Some months ago I believed the spirit of God said to me, "take note of what you say when you pray, because the Father hears and He always answers." Then I suddenly realized that one very reason why we do not take our prayers seriously as we should is because we lack confidence that our prayers would be answered. How do I know? It's simple; when our prayers are eventually answered you often see the shock on our faces, like we didn't even expect an answer.
We say things like, "I just prayed oh, and I didn't even think God would answer me."

If there is one place almost every believer is lacking confidence, it is in the place of prayer. But God will restore that today!!

However, my pastor said that, *"one of the criteria for prayer is confidence."* That struck a chord in my spirit. If you must pray, do it confidently;  know that God is listening to everything you have to say and he will answer, so be intentional about the things you say and believe to receive them.

I don't care what may have stolen your confidence in God or yourself; sin, fear, previous experiences of unanswered prayers, disbelief, what people may have said or done to you, anger, failure, unforgiveness, pain, past experiences, and so on. God is restoring your confidence back in Jesus name.

You will suddenly find confidence in God, what He can and will do through you. Come bodly before the throne of grace. Amen

Shalom
