THANKSGIVING: Be delibrate about giving thanks

*PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING*

Dear friend,

If we don't get delibrate about thanksgiving, we would find ourselves sitting in the midst of Gods goodness yet unable to find a reason to say thank you Jesus. I told a friend how I took a walk to get something to eat during my lunch break at the office, just as I was walking back, I took a pause, stood at the road, and lifted up my head just to say thank you, then I vividly saw how blessed I am and how good God has been to me. Before I continue my story of thanksgiving, yesterday was the first birthday I ever had to celebrate without my Dad being around. Not many people noticed, but I felt his absence all through yesterday, however it did not stop my thanks.

The little blessings we consider normal are meant to bring out thanksgiving from us.

So while we journeyed to the village, I thought about a thousand and one thing that most likely could happen on the road. I thought of my friend who had an accident and so much more, but I was confident that God has got my back. The journey was a success even though I passed the junction leading to my village without knowing (extra transport coming back to the junction). As soon as I got into the village, I lifted up my head and said, "Thank you Lord. Let everything that happen here bring glory to you." God did not just grand me safety but he did to every single person who came for the occasion.

The next day after my arrival, we started making quick plans for his burial; paying for canopies, seeing the umuadas and umunnas, having visitors come home to great the family, going to get firewoods and all. Like I said, God strategically raised divine helpers, who helped us with all we had to do and more. 

Mama Eyinnaya was one of our greatest help from God. Looking back, there was nothing that woman didn't help us do; from getting firewoods of over five thousand naira without asking for a refund, to getting pots, cooking, carrying anything that needed to be carried and also taking my sister to see who and who they needed to see. God bless her!!!!

I do not want to take all day talking about this, but if I can I will. Just so you see that God was in all of it, from my arrival until everything was done. I did not mention how my sisters found favour in the eyes of the umuadas, all this God did by himself.There are also a lot I cannot mention here that God did. So I am in the right place, just thanking God.

Thanksgiving is a choice not a must.

We choice to say thank you Lord or not. Take out some time today and think about the goodness of Jesus and thank Him sincerely. I discovered that your mind is connected to your thanks. You cannot thank Him without thinking of how good He has been.

What it does:

•Thanksgiving qualifies you for more.

•It causes multiplication

•Thanksgiving channels your heart to God.

•It changes your sight.

•Thanksgiving keeps and brings joy...

Thank Jesus more often.
