     #GOD'S_WILL
_You also can do the will of God.

Key scripture:
Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Dear friend,

Is it not amazing to find out that at certain periods of our lives all we just want to know is what the will of God is, and on some other occasions we really do not care about what God's will is or what He would have us do? There are several reasons attached to this - being confused about what to choose, not understanding what is going on or things getting out of our control - but that is not why I am writing to you today. My aim is to make these two words make more sense to you - God's will.

Over the last week I have been made to understand that just as a man has a will, God also has a will, and a man's will can become intertwined with God's will. At such point, what the man wills concerning a situation is what God wills (Romans 12:2, John 15:7). That man is Christ's bride!!!

The Two Wills Of God

There are two clear and very different meanings for the term “will of God” in the Bible. We need to know them. In fact, knowing the difference between these two meanings of “the will of God” is crucial to understanding one of the biggest and most perplexing things in all the Bible, namely, that God is sovereign over all things and yet disapproves of many things. Which means that God disapproves of some of what he permits to happen. For example rape, murder, gender violence, racism and so on...

1. God's sovereign will

Let us be very clear on this: God wills to come to pass some things that he hates. There's nothing that happens in heaven and under the earth that does not go through God. Seeing Jesus, His only son humiliated, crucified and killed was not fun but it was His will (Matthew 26:39)

Paul gives a sweeping summary statement of this truth in Ephesians 1:11, “In him [Christ] we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will.” The will of God is God’s sovereign governance of All that comes to pass. God can never lose control!!!! Because everything that happens, even the seemingly bad situations are under His sovereign will even to the smallest details of nature and human decisions. Nothing comes to pass without God!!!!
It is God’s sovereign control of all things. It cannot be broken.
The will of God is God’s sovereign governance of All that comes to pass.
That is the first meaning of the will of God: It is God’s sovereign control of all things. It cannot be broken.

2. God's instructive will

God's instructive will is what he commands us to do - who to marry, what job to do, sexual purity, what career to pursue etc. This is the will of God we can disobey or fail to do. The sovereign will we do whether we believe in it or not.The instructive we can fail to do. For example, Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21). Not all do the will of his Father. He says so. “Not everyone will enter the kingdom of heaven.” Why? Because not all do the will of God.

Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 4:3, “This is the will of God... that you abstain from sexual immorality.” Here we have a very specific instance of what God commands us: holiness, sanctification, sexual purity. This is his instructive will. God also wills that we believe in His son Jesus (John 6:29).

Find out what the instructive will of God is and walk in it.
