     #Why Christmas?

_who celebrates Christmas?

Dear friend, 

Every child likes to celebrate Christmas and every child also likes to be celebrated (birthday). But I strongly believe that majority of the church children who celebrate Christmas do not have an understanding why they celebrate. Is it just about the birthday of Jesus like we thought or is there more to it? Do we have a role to play in this season? Parents have a great role to play, which includes talking to their children about the season and how it should be celebrated. But unfortunately they themselves do not have the time or the knowledge to do that. If the children grow up without a proper understanding of the season and the one we celebrate and how He intend we celebrate Him, then,  they too will not have anything to pass unto their own children, asides the usual. 

*How do we celebrate Jesus*

The world should not give you a way to celebrate your Jesus, Jesus should. I said that, the last person on our minds during this season is the only person that should be the first person on our mind. The season is not about you, or your family, it's about Him. How can your family celebrate His birth, His humanity, His humility, His kindness, mercy or love? But you can't effectively celebrate His love without showing love to your neighbor. *Jesus requires that this season His love is not just preached but seen.* Don't just tell someone about God's love, show them. 

How many converts does the kingdom experience in this season  because of Love and how many souls does hell gain in this same season? How many girls get pregnant out of wedlock and how many are raped this season? How many girls become born again, spirit filled during this season? Or how many guys let Jesus come into their hearts for a change of life? If you draw a graph to represent the statistics then you'll see that Heaven is actually  loosing, and for Heaven the celebration doesn't count If the reason isn't met. Jesus didn't come so we'll have fun and indulge in sin. He came to show us the way - the way to live, the way to talk, the way to respond, the way to love and ultimately the way to the Father. If celebrating Him will make us live in the opposite, then He'd prefer we don't celebrate Him. This year I believe you'll do it differently. 

*Jesus is the celebrant not you*

In a birthday gathering, because it's the celebrant's day,  we abide by the rules of the celebrant, just to make he/she happy. We don't dirty the place or act out of control, or else we'll be kicked out. Let's abide by His rules the season. 

You can not love another if the love of the Father is not in you.  Let Jesus be at the center of your celebration this season. Reach out to another, pray for another, share the love of God to another and have fun in it.
