   #Learn to say "No"!

Dear friend,
_dont say maybe when you should be saying No!

Key scripture : Titus 2:11
_For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "NO" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age._

Half of the trouble we experience in life can be traced to saying Yes too quickly and not saying No at all. Sometimes all they people around us want to hear from us is a Yes. Saying yes can always feel good at the time. It always satisfy an instant gratification. A yes often comes as an approval, it is often pleasing to the ear and sweet to the mouth.

Everyone can say Yes, but not everyone has learnt how to say No.

It is important we understand that it takes a learning to be able to say No. A training, a schooling just so a man can say no. If we don't learn, how can we say no?? I believe by now we all know (by experience) that it's very hard to say No, sometimes it feels like things are going to go bad if I say No, or it feels like you can't even say No. You know, there's really nothing you can not do if you'll put your mind into learning how to do it. It may be difficult, but learning it makes it come easy by the day. Everyday try saying 10 "NOs" to 10 "not important things". Everytime you say No to the wrong you get better at it and you save yourselves from collateral damage. Build a capacity to say no to the wrong things.

Everyone has something he/she needs to say No to. It may be a friend, a habit, an offer, a sin...Saying yes simply because you can't bear the short-term pain of saying no will never help you become who you should be. Someone said saying No can be the ultimate self care, and I totally agree. Don't say yes because you want to please someone. Don't say yes because you want people to keep seeing you in a certain way, don't say yes because you want to keep that job, pass that exam,  or become friends with that person. Saying No is not always a selfie answer.

If you must say Yes, let it be for the right things, otherwise just say No.

Learn to say no to yourself

If you haven't learnt how to say No to yourself, you can't say No to others. Have you gone to the market before and felt like buying everything you liked? Sometimes the only reason we don't buy all we like is not because we have learnt to say No, it's only because we don't have enough money. We must learn 1st of all learn to say no to ourselves. Things as little as what we eat, what we wear, what we say, watch we watch or listen to. If we can't say no to ourselves in very little areas, how do we expect to do that when temptation comes?

Learn how to say no to others

Anyone who gets upset or expect you to say yes all the time, clearly doesn't have your best interest at heart. Selfish individuals will always demand a yes from you, even if it kills you. We must say No to such individuals.

Tone is the hardest part of saying no to others. We think,  "how should I say this so this person will understand?" We can politely, without disrespect or disregard, say No. You can be a nice person with a good heart and still say No to others. Just make sure you are not saying no to yourself when saying yes to others.

Saying no does not always show a lack of generosity and saying yes is not always a virtue
